New England Owner operators need special Owner Operator insurance products and services to keep you fully protected whether you’re under permanent lease to a motor carrier or if you work under your own authority.

Let us help you design a program that fits your needs at a price that fits your wallet.

Under Permanent Lease to a Motor Carrier?

If so, then your owner operator truck insurance coverage needs are mainly determined by the lease agreement you have with your motor carrier. Typically, the motor carrier provides Primary Liability insurance coverage when you are under dispatch and working on their behalf.

However, you still need to purchase insurance, such as:

  • Non-Trucking Liability insurance – Offers protection for when you're not under dispatch.
  • Physical Damage coverage - Can cover the cost of fixing or replacing your truck if it’s involved in an accident or stolen.

While some motor carriers may arrange for these coverages under a group type program, you can often get a better deal by purchasing them yourself, as well as not losing coverage should you decide to switch motor carriers at a moments notice.

You'll be able to make choices to customize your policy to meet your needs and your wallet.

Owner Operators Working Under Their Own Authority

If you are in the States of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire & Maine and are operating under your own authority you need to carry commercial insurance coverages, such as:

  • Liability insurance - For damages that you cause to other people and their property. We can help you meet the FMCSA requirements and file the MCS-90 with the authorities.
  • Physical Damage coverage - For repairs to your vehicle if it's damaged in an accident, whether it's caused by a collision with another vehicle or a falling tree branch.
  • Motor Truck Cargo insurance – For damages to the cargo that you’re hauling.
  • General Liability insurance – For injuries or property damage you cause as a result of business activities not directly related to operating your truck.

Note: this coverage is only available in New England (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire & Maine)
