Approximately 178,480 women and 2030 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year; there are over 2 million breast cancer survivors in the United States who have been treated.

Breast cancer is an uncontrolled growth of breast cells. Cancer occurs as a results of mutations/abnormal changes in the genes responsible for regulating the growth cells and keeping them healthy.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer
is one the largest fund-raising programs in the country. Last year, the city of Boston raised over $2.5 million, supplying state grants to support breast cancer awareness and education, screening and diagnosis, access to treatment, as well as support services and scientific research.

This year, members of TEAM WOLPERT took part in the 39 mile Avon 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer in Boston to raise money for the cure. The team consisted of Wolpert's very own Bob Mucci, Bonnie Francis and her daughter, Britney and our Astonish 'Raving Fan Manager', Megan Knobbe.
